Church History:

Starting All Over Outreach Ministry

Church of the Risen Christ

In 1992, God allowed this man to be incarcerated and sentenced to twelve (12) years in the Federal prison – for running what the government calls a Continual Criminal Enterprise better known as a King Pen Drug Dealer. The first three months of his incarceration was spent trying to figure out how to beat his case while drinking “jail-house” liquor (which he and his younger brother use to make) and smoking “jail-house” cigarettes (which was rolled with pages of the Bible). But it was during this time that he was encouraged by his older brother (who at the time was already incarcerated) to read Psalms and Proverbs of the Bible and to memorize Psalm 1. This was the beginning of a newfound peace that he had been searching for all his life. A peace that he did not find in alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, cocaine, marijuana, Sherman sticks, cough syrup, not even in money, women or sex.

In June 1992, he surrenders his life to be a servant of God. He received Jesus into his heart and accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. He was baptized January 1, and in that same year accepted his calling from God to preach the Gospel. The next nine (9) years of his incarceration was training and studying of God’s Word as God was preparing him for a mission upon his release. He was released to a halfway house on February and for the first time in almost ten ( he was finally experiencing physical freedom. It was during this time that one April he and his beautiful wife were taking their daughter to school and there was a song playing on the gospel station and the words that pierce his spirit was “I got to clean up what I done messed up – starting my life over again”. This song made him realize how God had spared all the years that he was not serving Him. He took a deep breath and said to himself, “How wonderful it is that even after all the mess that I got myself in, God has given me a chance to START ALL OVER AGAIN!
